Message from the General Manager

This year has seen Q.I.T.E. make several significant changes and this includes renovating and moving into our New Head Office in Mareeba, which was an amazing achievement as well as commencing a new Disability Employment Contract.

We have also rolled out the operation of 6 community pantries in our region and these Work for the Dole activities are making a large difference in the lives of low income earners who can access these pantries for cheaper grocery lines - this is one of our aims in relation to improving people's lives.

At Q.I.T.E., we continue to work with all stakeholders to make difference and employ people who are committed and passionate about making a difference in the lives of our clients, their families and ultimately the communities where they live.

We are currently running our newest campaign of 300 jobs in 100 days which started on the 1st of September and we currently have 39 placements of long term unemployment jobseekers placed into employment after 20 working days.

It is without a doubt that our success in serving our communities for the past 31 years would not have been achieved without the dedication and support of all our staff and the employers in the communities where we operate and for this we are eternally grateful.

I am very humbled to know that we cover a wide and diverse region and have great support in all areas where we operate from the wider community and we continue each day to want to improve and get better results than yesterday - thank you for helping us do this and call us if you need staff. Phone - 1800 354 414.

Good News Stories
Tully Community Pantry

John Goldsmith and his daughter Eleanor Quill dropped into the store, and although they didn't buy any groceries, Mr Goldsmith has resolved to return with fruit from the trees on his property.
Q.I.T.E.'s new Tully Community Pantry is easing the grocery bill burden of people in need while teaching job skills to its volunteer workforce. The Tully Community Food Pantry at 3/18 Butler Street is trading on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9am to 4pm.

The project is funded by the Federal Government and managed by Q.I.T.E.

Program supervisor Maria Marshall said the recently opened store was helping to fill a need in the Tully community. "We aim to build up the local community by helping those in need while reducing food wastage and teaching valuable retail skills to long-term unemployed volunteer staff" she said.
Q.I.T.E. supporting great Community Organisations!

Anna Pietrograzia accepts a Q.I.T.E. donation on behalf of the Vinnies FNQ Youth Buddies Day program from Jillian Trout, General Manager of Q.I.T.E.
Buddies Day is a community engagement program designed to give families support by providing their kids (8-12) with a fun day out. The St Vincent de Paul Society Queensland-led program is also a great opportunity for young volunteers to become active leaders and positive role models within their local community. Buddies Days focus on offering genuine support to our children, and providing them with alternative role models to give them a true hand up in life.

If you would like to volunteer or find out more, please email Anna at
Congratulations Kayla!

Kayla Mckeown has won a $80 voucher for attendance at Work For the Dole and appointments for the month of June 2018. She was very excited to win this and wanted to thank QITE.
